In Can Serrà 1786 we work the fields and we obtain our own production of fruit and vegetables. We look for the best organoleptic quality, and this is why, we harvest the fruits and vegetables at their freshest and most suitable time.
To us, organic means proximity, KM0.
Long distances come with a footprint. The origin of what we are eating is key. The shortest time that passes between the harvest and its consumption, the better.
We work following the organic agriculture’s criteria, which assumes that:
We do not use synthetic chemicals (fungicides, fertilizers, herbicides) or GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms), artificial preservatives, artificial dyes, artificial additives or any other similar products because they alter the quality of food and harm the ecosystem’s health (environmental burden, waste) and people (burden on health).
We obtain the seeds through greenhouse producers. Whenever we can, we work and recover varieties of local and traditional origin to guarantee and improve biodiversity and the diversity of tastes at the table. We do not close the doors to modern varieties that have adapted well in our territory. Over the years, we would like most of the seeds and seedlings to be of our own production and thus preserve the genetic variety of our autochthonous species.
Every week we make the harvest of what is at its point of ripeness, we prepare it and we serve it very fresh.
We want the minimum time between harvesting and consumption to happen.
